Layken’s Sleepy Session Debut

Today was such a fun session for multiple reasons. First off, Layken is the daughter of a girl I went to high school with named Anna. When Anna reached out to me several months before the shoot not only was I excited to meet her new addition but I was so excited to catch up with her.
Second reason why this session was a blast: I typically ask mothers a few things in regards to the session. I want to know styles, themes, items they would like to include and anything else they want to express through the photos. Anna was super simple when it came to the session. She said you pick it! OMG…A creative persons dream. Of course with spring around the corner I wanted to have lots of flowers, pinks, bunny ears for easter, and basically anything girly.
So the first setting we did a little white bed theme. I had white sheets, a little white lace pillow, and sweet Layken to make the photos extra amazing. She slept like a little baby through the entire first set up. Weary of prior shoots I thought to myself lets move quickly before she wakes.
Second set up I chose vibrant colors and some sweet little bunny ears for the spring. My oh my was she adorable and STILL sleeping.
The third set up we did all pink which was super girly and sweet and what do you know she was still sleeping. And then last but not least we put her in the sweetest little white lace outfit on my bean bag posey with a velvet maroon cover. This set up cute, but not my best work. So then I decided to find something super fun to photoshop her on to. In the newborn photography world digital backdrops are so awesome! Not only do you get to put your baby on some crazy cool props but it makes for some super neat pictures. So I transferred her on to this adorable baby bed covered in seashells and gorgeous pinks.
After one hour we had completed the session, JUST LIKE THAT. What a fun a special day to celebrate new life. Baby Layken you are loved. If you are interested in booking a session click here.
